I injured myself whilst working on a roof. Unfortunately, whilst working on the roof, my footing slipped and I fell through the roof. Due to this, I sustained numerous injuries. I sustained a calcaneus fracture, patellar fracture, femur bone injuries, two broken wrists, dislocated right shoulder and broken ribs.

I came to know of ATSGUK through people I know.

Due to my journey, I was interested in helping people who have sustained severe injuries in order to provide them the support required to assist their mental wellbeing.

By working with ATSGUK, it has allowed me to keep busy. It has also provided me with immense gratification due to being able to provide help and support to others who have sustained significant injuries.

I am a double below knee amputee since 2008 after a fall in 1992 which left me paralysed for 6 months. I am married with 2 children.

I am very lucky to have been able to do some amazing things since my amputation.

I have walked and crawled to the top of the 3 highest mountains in Great Britain (mount Snowden, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike to name a few). I have also hiked up numerous mountains in the Lake District, Peak District, Brecon Beacons and Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

I have also walked 45 miles and pushed 30 miles in my wheelchair to raise funds for Amp Camp Kids.

I came across ATSGUK via the charity work I did.

My aim is to share my experiences with other people who require the motivation and support due to sustaining life changing injuries.

I also want to do much more charity work so that funds can be raised to help other amputees.

Some of my achievements can be seen in the news articles below:

I sustained a hand injury whilst at work. I was using a saw to cut wood. When I pulled down the saw blade with my right hand, the circular blade of the saw snagged on the wood which I was cutting. This caused a piece of wood which was overhanging on the work bench to flip up which resulted in my left hand being knocked into the circular blade. As a result of this, I sustained severe injuries to my left hand.

I came across ATSGUK via other people who have benefitted from the charity.

Due to what I have been through, I wanted to help people who have suffered trauma and provide them with the help and support they require.
